At St. Elizabeth Ann Seton Catholic Church in Plano, light becomes prayer. The leaded glass windows are not merely decorative, but a profession of faith in luminous form, a path of contemplation that accompanies believers in the mystery of the Gospel and in meditation on the Rosary.
The stained glass windows dedicated to the four Evangelists—Matthew, Mark, Luke, and John— are conceived as manifestations of the Word becoming light.
Each figure emerges from the glass as a reflection of the divine Logos: the Evangelists are not only authors, but witnesses of Revelation, instruments through which the Holy Spirit gave voice to the mystery of Christ.
The light that passes through the blown and painted glass recalls that of divine grace that illuminates the mind and heart, making each stained glass window a page of the Gospel written not with ink but with the color of light.
The stained glass windows dedicated to the Mysteries of the Rosary invite meditation on the main events in the lives of Jesus and Mary, as stages in a spiritual journey that unites earth and heaven.
Each group of mysteries—joyful, sorrowful, glorious, and luminous—is expressed through a composition of symbols and scenes that blend theology and visual poetry.
In each panel, the Rosary prayer becomes an image: the repetition of the Hail Marys translates into the rhythm of colors and reflections, and meditation on the mysteries opens like a flower of light that leads to the heart of Christ.
In these stained glass windows, light is not only a natural element, but also a theological expression: it is the sign of the Risen Christ, the “Light of the world” (Jn 8:12), who illuminates every heart. Glass, fragile and transparent, becomes a metaphor for the soul that allows itself to be penetrated by grace; matter is transfigured, like humanity itself, in the mystery of the Incarnation.
